When does a person need counseling ?
Life can become difficult for all of us. When it does we all need someone to talk with or go to for support and guidance.
Many people turn to friends and family, spiritual leaders, pastors or a church congregation. Much of the time this is enough to pull people through a “Tough Spot.” Sometimes it isn’t.
Have you ever heard the phrase “Can’t see the forest for the trees?” Counselors help you see the forest. Sometimes problems start out small but because we are too close to the situation they become larger and more tangled then they have to be.
Your Counselor Will:
- Cultivate a "safe" place for you to discuss your concerns or problems
- Listen to you in a genuine and non-judging manner
- Provide objective observation and bring to light any faulty thinking or negative patterns currently in your life
- Assist you to acquire new skills and ways of thinking that will facilitate positive change
- Respect your right to be an active participant in the counseling and decision making process.

Counseling Services Should Always Be Unique to the Client:
No two people are exactly the same even if the reasons for seeking counseling often are. Each person approaches life and its’ experiences differently. With this in mind it stands to reason that the therapeutic process be adjusted to meet the client’s needs rather than shoving the client into a form that doesn’t fit.
The goal of the counselor is to work with the client to create the best possible counseling experience.
